Help & FAQ

Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. Pebble Notepad works fully offline. An account is only needed to sync notes between your Mac and iPhone.

How do I put a note on my Mac desktop?

Open the notes window from the menu-bar icon, then toggle "Show on desktop" on a note — or on iPhone, use "Show on Mac desktop" in a note's ••• menu. Desktop notes sit above your wallpaper but below your windows.

How do I get the iPhone widget?

Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen → Edit → Add Widget → search "Pebble Notepad". Touch and hold the widget → Edit Widget to choose which note it shows. With no choice made, it shows your newest pinned note.

Writing & drawing

How do lists work?

The list button in the toolbar offers checklists, bulleted and numbered lists. Return continues a list; Return on an empty item ends it. Tap a checkbox to tick it.

How do I draw?

Tap the pencil button (iPhone) to add a sketch area, pick pens and inks from the floating bar, and tap the tick when done. Drag the handle under a drawing to resize it. You can also edit drawings on the Mac by clicking them.

Sync

How fast is sync?

Edits usually reach your other devices within a few seconds. If a device was offline, it catches up next time the app opens.

What happens if I edit the same note on two devices?

The most recent edit wins for that note. Pebble Notepad is built for quick notes, not simultaneous collaborative editing.

Where did a deleted note go?

Deleted notes sit in Recently Deleted (menu drawer on iPhone, sidebar on Mac) for 14 days, and can be restored from there.

Account

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and synced notes from our servers; notes on your devices stay on them.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen tap "Forgot password?" and we'll email you a reset link.

Common issues

My widget shows a skeleton / isn't updating.

Open the app once so it can refresh, or remove and re-add the widget. Restarting the iPhone clears stubborn cases.

A note made on my Mac lost its character styling after I edited it on iPhone.

That's expected: per-character rich styling is Mac-only, so editing the text on iPhone converts the note to evenly-styled text.

Sync says "Syncing gradually".

You hit the fair-use write limit (very unusual in normal use). Your edits are safe on the device and upload automatically over the next hour.
